NW Regional Shotokan Karate Residential Summer Camp Fri 26th -Sun 28th Jul 2024

Background to the event:

Those of a certain age, will have fond memories of the residential JKA summer training camps at Crystal Palace in the '80s when hundreds of karateka from across the UK (and Europe), would travel to train with Enoeda Sensei and the cream of JKA national instructors from across the world.

The training was hard and taxing but the camaraderie was second to none. In an effort to recreate those great training camps on a smaller, regional level, a small number of local instructors from across North Wales, Cheshire and the Wirral have come together to organise a three day residential summer camp. The aim is to provide a taste of this immersive training to local students of all styles and organisations.

Starting on Friday afternoon with sign in at 2pm, training will commence at 3pm and over the course of the next three days, students will have the opportunity to train for 13 hours. Those staying will be boarded for two nights (full board) in the accommodation wings at Moreton Hall and will have full access to the school facilities: extensive grounds, swimming pool, tennis courts and gym.

The current provisional training schedule is as follows:

Friday:

• 3pm-4.30pm
• 6.30pm-8.00pm

Saturday:

• 9am-11am
• 12.30pm -2pm
• 3pm-4.30pm
• 6.30pm-8.00pm

Sunday:

• 9am-11am
• 12.30pm -2pm

Ticket prices are as follows:

• Full board ticket : £180pp (13 hours training) + all meals + 2 nights accommodation + use of facilities
• Friday Day ticket: £45 (3hrs training) +evening meal
• Saturday Day ticket: £88.50 (6.5hrs training) +lunch + evening meal
• Sunday Day ticket: £50 (3.5hrs training)+ lunch

NOTE: we have an option to purchase Full board tickets with a 50% deposit (£90) with the balance payable by 3rd June 2024. 

Is this a good deal you ask? Well a similar duration yoga retreat will cost you a minimum of £500pp (and often more) so we'll let you work that out.

Accomodation:

Twin rooms so expect to share! Allocation will be made on the day, but we will keep family groups together. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Booking Details:

We have an online booking form that will allow you to pick your tickets, enter your details and pay via PayPal portal. This portal should also accept all major debit and credit cards even if you do not have a PayPal Account. You will be redirected to this online form via the link on this page.

Cancellations: 

No refunds will be given after 3rd June 2024. In the event an attendee wishes to cancel prior to 3rd June 2024, please email Paul at JKS Chester with the name of the attendee who wishes to cancel for a full refund of the price of their ticket(s).
